My adventure began in Istanbul, a city that straddles two continents. After soaking in the city’s rich history and vibrant culture, I hopped on a flight to Antalya. As the plane descended into Antalya, the view from the window was nothing short of breathtaking. The turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea sparkled under the sun, and the city of Antalya, nestled between the sea and the Taurus Mountains, looked inviting. The excitement was palpable as I landed in this beautiful city, the gateway to my road trip on the Turkish Riviera. Upon arrival, I picked up our rental car and hit the road, ready to explore this gem. I used CarJet Rent a Car for my self-drive car. The pickup location is very close to Antalya airport and they send a person to pick you up at the airport and bring you to the pickup location.

The drive to Kaş was a scenic masterpiece – think rugged mountains meeting the turquoise sea. Leaving Antalya we got our first impressions of the D400 coastal drive. The road takes you along the coast and into the mountains, catching glimpses of the sea. Along the way, we came across some of the most beautiful villages and beaches in Cirali, Kemer, Finike, etc. You can stop along the way and take a dip into any of the numerous beaches. With each twist and turn, the anticipation builds, until finally, we arrive in this idyllic seaside town - Kaş, a small fishing town known for its bohemian vibe and stunning beaches. Nestled on the Turquoise Coast, Kaş is a paradise for beach lovers and history buffs alike. We had lunch at Tourist Park Restaurant near Kas before checking in at our Airbnb for the next couple of days. Kaş itself is a delightful town, a world away from the hustle and bustle of Antalya. Colorful houses cascade down the hillsides, and the pace of life is refreshingly slow. I spent my days exploring the charming harbor, browsing the local shops for unique souvenirs (that evil eye necklace is now my prized possession!), and indulging in lazy afternoons by the infinity pool of my stunning Airbnb (hey, a girl has to treat herself!).

For a more secluded experience, head to Limanagzi Bay, accessible only by boat. If you’re looking for family-friendly options, Akçagerme Beach is a great choice.

But Kaş isn't just about sunbathing – it's also a haven for adventure seekers and history buffs alike. For those craving adrenaline, why not try your hand at scuba diving in the underwater wonderland of the Blue Cave, or embark on a thrilling sea kayak excursion along the rugged coastline? For a taste of adventure, head to Kaputaş Canyon, a hidden gem accessible by boat. Hike through the dramatic gorge, take a dip in the cool, refreshing pools, and marvel at the cascading waterfalls. Feeling peckish after your hike? Local vendors often set up shops near the entrance, selling refreshing drinks and delicious gözleme (stuffed flatbreads).
